Mr. Magruder earned his Accounting degree from Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago in 1986. He worked with local accounting firms gaining skills in accounting and income tax. His work ranged from write up and compilation work for small retail stores, restaurants and service organizations to audits of real estate developments, retail stores and non profit organizations. Mr. Magruder passed the Certified Public Accountant Exam in 1991 and became licensed and started his practice in Illinois in 1992, and licensed in Wisconsin in 2004.
Along with his accounting practice, Mr. Magruder worked 8 years for a plumbing supply house that services 4 states, with 6 warehouse and retail/wholesale stores and over 300 employees. Mr. Magruder managed the accounting and tax records of the organization. Some of the responsibilities included overseeing that the accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, investments, banking, payroll, and sales tax items were being properly recorded and maintained. Mr. Magruder, prepared monthly financial statements for all the branches and the consolidated company. Mr. Magruder managed the company's compliance with all income, payroll and sales taxing jurisdictions and authorities. Mr. Magruder prepared the federal, multi state corporate tax returns as well as local occupation returns.
In 2004 Mr. Magruder moved his practice with his family to the Fox Valley. Mr. Magruder is married with 5 kids and lives in Neenah.
Mr. Magruder is an officer with the Doty Island Development Council, Inc., a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Inc, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Tax Professionals. |
